1. Mark a circle and work anticlockwise. Come up on its edge and go down in the very middle, leaving the thread loose. Come up on the edge a little further round, inside the loop, and draw it up. 4. To close the ring, take the last stitch to the start, slide the needle under the first stitch without touching the cloth, and go down in the centre.
