1. Work from right to left. Come up at the right end of the line, then go down a short way on, just above the line, with the thread loose. Cross the slack over itself, the later part on top, and bring the point up through the crossing, a little under the line. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки

• Piercing the straight stitch rather than sliding under it: the link is locked in the wrong place and will not sit in line.Голка проколює прямий стібок, а не проходить під ним: ланка застрягає не там і не лягає в лінію.
• Twisting the loop the wrong way for the knot: it falls apart when pulled. The later part of the crossing goes on top.Петлю перекручено не в той бік: вузлик розпадається, коли потягнути. Друга частина завитка йде зверху.
