Long threads laid on the diagonal into a diamond lattice, each crossing tied with a small upright stitch and a knot set in every diamond. Work it in 15 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Lay long parallel threads on the diagonal, evenly spaced, up on one edge of the shape and down on the other.Покладіть скісно довгі паралельні нитки на однаковій відстані: угору на одному краю форми й униз на другому.
- Lay the same threads on the opposite diagonal, so that the two sets make diamonds. Keep the threads flat and untwisted.Покладіть такі самі нитки по протилежній діагоналі, щоб два набори утворили ромби. Тримайте нитки рівними, без перекруту.
- With a second thread, tie each crossing with one small upright stitch: just enough to hold it, no more. Pulling hard warps the lattice.Другою ниткою зв’яжіть кожне перехрестя одним маленьким прямим стібком, лише щоб воно трималося, не більше. Сильне затягування кривить ґратку.
- Set a French knot in the middle of each diamond: wrap the thread round the needle, and go down right beside the place you came up. - Ties pulled tight enough to bend the threads at each crossing: the diamonds warp out of shape.Зв’язувальні стібки затягнуто так, що нитки згинаються на перехрестях: ромби втрачають форму.
- Crowding too many threads into a small shape: there is no room left for the knots. Choose the spacing first with the knots in mind.Занадто багато ниток у невеликій формі: для вузликів не лишається місця. Спершу виберіть відстань, зважаючи на вузлики.
