Long diagonals crossing over and over from side to side of a leaf, so the crossings pile up in the middle into a ridge that pads the leaf as it covers it. Work it in 15 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

- Come up at the tip and go down on the centre line: a straight stitch that the first crossings will sit on.Виведіть голку на кінчику й уведіть на центральній лінії: прямий стібок, на якому лежатимуть перші перехрестя.
- Well down the leaf, come up a little in from the left edge. - Repeat those two, each pair just below the last, touching along the edges. The crossings build up down the middle, padding and covering at the same time. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Stitches too short: the crossings stay low and there is no ridge. The lower end of each stitch must reach well below its upper end.Закороткі стібки: перехрестя лежать низько, і гребеня немає. Нижній кінець кожного стібка має бути значно нижче за верхній.
