Coral knots set by turns on two parallel lines, the thread running diagonally between them in a knotted zigzag. Work it in 5 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Draw two parallel lines you can remove later, for this stitch does not hide them. Work from top to bottom. Come up on the left line and take the thread diagonally to the right line. There, take a small bite straight down the line and pass the working thread over the needle, then under its tip. Pull the needle through against that loop, and a knot closes on the bite. That is the coral knot.Нанесіть дві паралельні лінії, які потім можна прибрати, бо цей шов їх не ховає. Працюйте згори вниз. Виведіть голку на лівій лінії й ведіть нитку навскіс до правої. Там візьміть голкою невеликий шматочок тканини прямо вниз по лінії й проведіть робочу нитку над голкою, а тоді під вістрям. Протягніть голку крізь цю петлю, і на проколі замкнеться вузлик. Це і є кораловий вузлик.
- From the foot of that knot, take the thread diagonally back to the left line and make the same knot there.Від основи цього вузлика проведіть нитку навскіс назад до лівої лінії й зробіть там такий самий вузлик.
- Go on from side to side, the same slant and the same bite. Finish over the last knot with a small tie.Працюйте далі з боку в бік, з тим самим нахилом і тим самим проколом. Наприкінці закріпіть останній вузлик маленьким стібком.
Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- The thread under the needle at the wrong moment: without it over the shank and under the point, no knot forms, only a loose loop.Нитка не там: якщо вона не над голкою й не під вістрям, вузлик не утворюється, лишається вільна петля.
