Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Come up at 1. Decide how long the coil will be and go down at 2, then come back up at 1 — but stop with the needle only half through, and leave the thread on the front as a large loop.Виведіть голку в 1. - Wind that loop around the needle, close to the cloth, always the same way, until the wraps on the needle are as long as the gap from 1 to 2 and a touch more. - Hold the wraps with finger and thumb and pull the needle through. Pull the thread away along the knot’s line until the wraps sit tight and even, nudging out any bumps with the needle. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Too few wraps: the coil cannot reach the second hole and the cloth buckles between them. Too many: it arches up like a bridge. A curl is only good when you mean it.Замало витків: спіраль не дістає другої дірочки, і тканина морщиться. Забагато: вона вигинається містком. Вигин добрий, лише коли він задуманий.
- A needle with a wide eye: the wraps jam on it. Use a straw (milliner) needle, the same width from point to eye.Голка із широким вушком: витки застрягають. Візьміть голку «мілінер», однакової товщини від вістря до вушка.
- Winding the wraps unevenly, or changing the direction part-way: the coil comes out lumpy.Нерівне намотування або зміна напрямку посередині: спіраль виходить горбатою.
