Open loops worked left and right of a line in turn, so the line grows into a light, branching spray. Work it in 5 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Come up on the line at the top. Go down to the right of the line and come up a little lower, close to the line, the thread lying under the needle’s point as a loop. Pull until the loop is a soft V.Виведіть голку на лінії вгорі. Уведіть праворуч від лінії й виведіть трохи нижче, ближче до лінії, так щоб нитка лягла під вістрям голки петлею. Потягніть, щоб петля стала м’якою «галочкою».
- From there, go down to the left of the line and come up lower again, close to the line, with the thread under the point. The stitch swings to the other side.Звідти введіть голку ліворуч від лінії й виведіть ще нижче, ближче до лінії, з ниткою під вістрям. Стібок перекидається на другий бік.
- Keep swinging right and left, always the same width and the same drop, each stitch starting in the point of the last.Далі так само — праворуч і ліворуч, однакова ширина, однаковий крок униз, і кожен стібок починається у вістрі попереднього.

Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Forgetting the thread under the needle: without it the stitch is a loose straight line that pulls out.Нитка не під вістрям: без цього стібок стає вільною прямою, яка висмикується.
- Drifting off the line: mark a centre line, and two side lines while you learn.Сповзання з лінії: нанесіть центральну лінію, а поки вчитеся — ще й дві бічні.
- Pulling so hard that the branches close up. It should stay open and airy.Занадто сильний натяг закриває гілочки. Стібок має лишатися відкритим і легким.
