How to do antique seam stitchЯк вишивати старовинний з’єднувальний шов
A flat join of two edges laid side by side: the thread comes up through each piece in turn, and on both faces it forms little slants meeting at the join, like the bones of a fish. Work it in 8 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Joining selvedges and unfolded edges, or interlinings of big hangings, where a folded seam would make a ridge. It also joins leather.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Butt the two raw edges together with no overlap; the centre line is the join. Come up through the left piece a little way in from the edge and take the thread across to the join.Складіть два краї впритул, без накладання; центральна лінія — це стик. - Slip the needle down between the pieces and up through the right piece, the same distance from the edge and a little further along. - Do the same on the left, then on the right. The thread makes a figure of eight round the two edges and they stay flat, with no fold anywhere. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
