How to do a whipped backstitchЯк вишивати обвитий бекстіч
A finished backstitch line whipped with a second thread: an even twisted cord that reads crisply against its ground and holds up at a distance. Work it in 6 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

What it is used forЗастосування
A line with more body than plain back stitch, rather like a slim stem stitch. On cloth too fine to take a thick thread it builds height on the surface instead, and the whipping can be a second colour.

- Work a foundation row of back stitch, the stitches equal and not too small, so the whipping needle can go under each.Вишийте основу бекстічем, стібки рівні й не надто дрібні, щоб голка могла пройти під кожним.
- With a second thread, come up at the start of the line. Slide a blunt needle under each stitch in turn, always in the same direction and always without touching the cloth. Go down at the far end. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
