Rugs and hard-wearing pile on coarse canvas, in thick rug wool. No knots or fastening are needed at the row ends, so colour changes are easy.

1. Work from the bottom row up. Go down at the bottom left of the row, leaving a tail on the surface. The tail will be caught in a moment. 3. Come up two holes below that hole, and make the next slant. Pull it tight. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки

• Pulling the slant gently: the pile comes loose when it is brushed. It must bite firmly on both loops.Слабко затягнутий скісний стібок: ворс випадає, коли його чистять. Він має міцно стискати обидві петлі.
