How to do a straight stitch in ribbonЯк вишивати прямий стібок стрічкою
A single flat length of ribbon from one hole to the next, left a little raised, so that it has volume. Work it in 3 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Come up at the start of the stitch, pulling straight up so that the ribbon comes through the hole without folding. Hold it flat on the cloth, with the needle slid beneath it to stroke it straight if you need to.Виведіть голку на початку стібка, потягнувши прямо вгору, щоб стрічка вийшла з дірочки без заломів. - Go down at the end of the stitch. Pull slowly, keeping the ribbon flat under your thumb or over the needle, and stop while it still has a little lift. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Pulling tight: the ribbon closes up to a thin strip, the fabric puckers, and its charm goes.Сильний натяг: стрічка стягується у вузьку смужку, тканина морщиться, і вся принада зникає.
- A twist hidden on the back: it comes through on the next stitch. Check the back. If it comes through twisted, undo it and rethread.Перекручення, сховане на вивороті: воно проявиться на наступному стібку. Перевіряйте виворіт. Якщо вийшла перекрученою, розпустіть і заведіть заново.
